The AD Steering Rack as noted on their service invoice. It started to get sloppy with a lot of give about 4 weeks ago. I asked my husband to drive it to verify my concerns which he did. During that time it had a mind of its own and seemed to want to steer itself. It was not on steering assistance mode nor could you activate that. At 34,000 miles, we immediately went to the nearest dealership and they verified in writing on their invoice a manufacturers defect. We had initially reported a severe condensation problem at 30,415 miles on Jan 27, which they would not address because my timeframe warranty was due to expire in 4 days and they said it would take weeks to diagnose. It is our thoughts that the condensation issue reported to them on jan 27, at 30,415 miles is related to the malfunction we experienced 4 weeks ago. No warning lamps prior were present at any time. When the dealer gave it back, it now has a new severe clunking noise when you turn the wheel. We took backroads home fearing a loss of control of the entire steering. The dealer would not honor any type of warranty until they received a code from corporate. To date, we have received nothing. Our car is grounded, we can no longer drive it and are still obligated to pay 777.00 per month to Honda Finance Corp. It was obvious that our safety and the safety of others on the road were compromised when the steering became sloppy and loose and steered by itself. This is available for inspection at any time.
