The yellow flashing warning light turned red, and the vehicle stalled. The instrument cluster turned black, and the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle but was unable to shift to park(P). The contact stated that a Police Officer attempted to jumpstart the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to start, and a tow truck company was called for assistance. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The contact replaced the battery and was able to start the vehicle and the a “FCV” and the shift to park(P) message was displayed. The contact called a local dealer and was advised that the vehicle needed to be towed to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
