The contact owns a 2025 Toyota Sienna Hybrid equipped with Firestone Tires, Tire Line: FT 140, Tire Size: 235/65/R17, DOT Number: 1WT87FT01. The contact stated that there was a screw in the tire. The contact stated that while driving 70 MPH there was a sound of an object in the tire. The message that the air pressure was low was immediately displayed. The tire pressure indicated 25 PSI. The driver was able to take the off-ramp but was unable to locate the spare tire. A good Samaritan attempted to assist. The driver was able to locate the Fix-A-Flat and a compressor, but the tire failed to hold air. The contact stated that the hole in passenger’s side rear tire was too big to be sealed. The contact was unaware that the vehicle did not have a spare tire. The contact was on the side of the road for two hours. The tire was changed and plugged by her husband after two hours of being stranded. The contact had enough fuel to run the air conditioner. The tires were previously rotated. The contact stated that the situation could have been worse, and not having a spare tire puts the drivers in a dangerous situation. The failure mileage was approximately 11,474.

Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An unsecured wheelchair can move during transit, increasing the risk of injury.
